Notes
Maria visited Bukudumira village the upper section, to teach about postnatal care, antenatal care and post abortion care. The health educator introduced the topic to the community members, she started by asking the different activities done during antenatal care. Members gave different answers saying; examination or checking of the pregnancy, blood checkup tetanus vaccination etc. Maria added different activities or services given in detail, Maria encouraged members to go for antenatal care as soon as possible, go with their partners so that they beget to understand it together. Furthermore, the health educator together with the members discussed some of the challenges that hinder them from going back to hospital after child birth (postnatal care). Sandra said that some women are not aware of service, Rita said that the attitude of the health workers is not good and this sends the mothers away, other members said that they didn’t know what is done, Amina said that some men refuse their wives from going back. Maria explained the services offered in postnatal care; Checking the babies progress, teach the mother how to breastfeed, encouraging the mother to immunize the baby etc. Maria said that all the services offered in antenatal, postnatal care needs both the woman and the man. Members were great full for the knowledge rendered to them, the meeting ended with a word of prayer from Nabirye.
