Notes
Abraham and Alex B met Kitukiro community members to discuss about caring for goats mostly shelters construction. The chairperson Mss Base told the meeting that they have been working on their kitchen because most of the members that is where they hope to keep their goats. The treasurer Mss Nangobi Alice suggested that they have to maintain their Kitchens because it will bring more costs to build new shelters for goats. Michael seconded her and he added that they already worked on their kitchens during stove program but what is needed is to make sure every Kitchen has a good door, smeared it in and out and thatched properly. The chairperson Mr Kasadha said that they have been working with plan international for hygiene and sanitation and what he observed is that most members have worked on their kitchens but some few still needs improvement. He said that they are going to work with those who need improvement because some have good structures with weak doors whereby they have to put strong ones. Abraham and Alex B encouraged the community especially those with weak doors and structures in order their goats to be safe during the night. It is always good to have good maintained good structure because when a goat stay in a well maintained place gives good breeds. They reminded them to work on three things- 1 grass for feeding them, 2- treating them when they sick and keeping them in a good shelter. They were told to continue with hygiene and sanitation and making sure each member buys a rope for goats. The members gave the deadline of two weeks whereby they will be ready. They are going to continue with caring of the goats as they check the progress on construction of goats shelters.
