To educate the students about the importance of education in their lives
Notes
Purpose of the visit to Bulyowa primary school. Manuela went to this school to teach the students about the importance of education in their lives. Manuela reached the school, went direct to the class to meet students , she greeted them and asked them about the previous exercise, they said it was good. Manuela asked the students to do a quick exercise, Manuela asked the students to write down reasons why they come to school everyday, Students were able to write their reasons why they come to school, Manuela moved around to check what they wrote. After that, Manuela again asked the students about what they want to be in feature, students wrote answers like to be a teacher, nurse, Doctor, police officer etc which was good for the start. After that exercise, Manuela introduced the lesson of the day, she told the students that they are going to learn about the importance of education for their lives, family and the community where they stay. Manuela asked the students question, what is Education? What are the two forms of education? What are the importance of education to them? Finally Manuela asked them to discuss the importance of education in their community. Students where able to share their ideas about the questions asked, for example for what is education, they said it’s the process of gaining knowledge and skills for life, they also mentioned the two types of education, that Formal which is the type of education got from school and it’s taught by the teachers for example they like reading, writing etc. Informal education is the the type of education got from home and it’s taught by parents for example teaching how to dig, eat, greet speak etc . The students also managed to discuss the importance of education, Manuela was pleased with the students and how they were trying to come one up with write full answers. After brain storming, Manuela also added on some of the points concerning education and explained to the students what education is, it’s types and the it’s importance both to the students and the community. Manuela encouraged the students to listen to and understand what they their teaches are teaching them and if they have failed to understand something, Manuela advised the students to always asked the teach so that they can re explained to them because it’s their rights to learn and understand.After that Manuela gave the students home work on the importance of Menstrual Hygiene and Management. After that Manuela went to the village to meet community members and teach them, Manuela reached the village found few members waiting for her, as they were planning to start their lessons after reviewing the previous lessons than it started to rain, Manuela told the participants that they will start from where they have stop in the next visit.
