Notes
Alex went back to Buyange for the second day of borehole drilling supervision. Water was first hit at 39M and the drillers continued drilling through the rock up to 52M. At this point there was enough water already got and drillers decided to develop it by blowing to clear the water. The water cleared after 1 hour of blowing and It was measured to be at 2000L/ hr. It was such big celebrations in the community after seeing that drilling had been successful and water was got. Some people couldn’t hold back their excitement and danced under the water that was being blown up. They sung songs that were praising God and Kibo group for the help that has been rendered. Even though it was very hard drilling through the rock, they managed to drill up to 52M and got enough water for the community. The water user committee was told to keep working together and will continue to under go a training and prepare for the next step of borehole installation. The community will have to take good care of the point that had been drilled until the installation is done.
