Notes
Jessica went to the village and found the community already gathered at the meeting place. She was welcomed and together they walked to Jaliyah’s home where they had previously built a fuel efficient stove. Jessica was going to teach the community members how to remove the banana stems from the built stove and to follow up on the smearing of the facilities. She entered the kitchen and began taking out the banana stems from Jaliyah’s stove as the participants were standing and watching aside. This was a very delicate lesson which needed much attention because when the stems are taken out poorly, it can affect the stove by either not cooking well in the future or it may fail to take in wind. She took out the stems which were already getting old while explaining to the community members until she completed everything. Jessica requested the owner not to cook on it until it turned one month old because by this time it would have dried up very well. Jessica walked around a few homes while observing the program facilities which needed to be improved on, she kept on requesting the community members to smear all their buildings and repair their kitchen roofs which had holes. She also explained that a good kitchen should be well ventilated with a high roof, smeared from both inside and outside parts. The community members promised to improve on their facilities as soon as possible and the meeting came to an end.
