Jeska and Harriet were in Kamudoke village to guide participants of group A as they build stoves on their own. The participants successfully mixed the dirt and grass at a ratio of 2:1 but they did not stamp it to get ready. Harriet checked the dirt and asked them to stamp it until it got ready.
Participants tried to build a stove on their own but the challenge was they interchanged the two pots that will create surface areas for cooking. This would affect the effectiveness of the stove as it would be hard for fire to move from the small pot to the big pot. Jeska and Harriet corrected their mistake and asked them to always look at complete stoves as guidance as they build stoves on their own.
The participants asked that how longer will it before some one starts cooking on the stove. Kibo staff told them that need to wait for two weeks, remove banana stems from the stove and then two more weeks for the stove to dry before they start cooking on it.
The group members were very appreciative for kibo’s of teaching and being patient with them despite the mistakes they made. Kibo staff encouraged the group to keep on practicing because practice makes perfect.
