Diana and Ida went to Nawandyo B, to continue with the home assessment of the community empowerment lessons. It had rained so heavily, most people were returning from their gardens. Diana and Ida set off and started from Sofia’ home. Sofia is one of the committee members, indeed she showed a good example, her home was clean, she practiced the community empowerment lessons, and they were living harmony in their marriage. The man kept laughing as he hugged his wife Sofia. He testified that since Sofia started attending the community empowerment lessons, their home has never had issues, they don’t quarrel as it used to be before, the man opened up that his Sofia was a dirty woman, but now she a clean and beautiful lady. This family also has the hand washing facility and the stoves were also functioning well. In their home visits Diana met Yudaya and having a good a moment with the husband, the husband was carrying and feeding their child. This was not the case before were husbands used to live the feeding of the children to the women. Also women were not allowed to sit on the same chair with their husbands, they normally sat down, but due to community empowerment lessons, the couple embraces love and harmony in marriage. As they continued their home visits , Diana and Ida met an elderly couple Ahamdan with his, known as Mama Rashid. This couple was having good time together, we truly saw the love these two shared this really humbled us so much. Ahamdan thanked community empowerment for restoring peace in his home, his home used to be a living hell, but now it is the home that everyone admires, this is due to the community empowerment lessons. He says since they started attending the community empowerment lessons, he has not heard domestic violence in their homes and the community. The homes are peaceful, women prepare food on time due to the stoves they got from, Kibo, they have a borehole of their own from Kibo, hand washing facilities have reduced on the diseases in their community, because children and adults all wash their hands and in Covid time the hand washing facilities helped so much. He said that he could not finish all the good things Kibo had done for them. In this home assessment of community empowerment lessons, Diana and Ida were greatly happy, because the community was living in harmony, their homes were entirely clean, although some were still in the gardens, their compounds were clean, there was respect and mutual understanding in the marrieds. The children also practice discipline and respect towards their parents, like in the family of Waiswa, whom we got the daughter greeting. Diana and Ida thanked everyone who participated in transforming the community of Nawandyo B. They encouraged them to continue with the hygiene and also continue practicing the community empowerment lessons. Ida and Diana told them that the final visit will be after teaching the last lesson which is poultry lessons.
