Notes
Alex met with the DFO, Mr. William and discussed about the need to plant trees in the district. Alex made this trip to get the district more involved in the tree planting by partnering with kibo to plant trees in the villages kibo is working in and hoping to give trees. The DFO commended the good job kibo has done in the district and promised to get more trees to plant in the communities kibo has sensitized and also be part of the process to prepare the communities before planting the trees. He promised musizi trees and giant lira type. Alex then met with district water officer to follow up on the coordinates needed for the borehole in Kisimu where kibo will be installing a water pump to serve the whole village. He quickly sent someone from the district to go get all the details about this borehole drilled by the district and had promised to give a feed back by the end of the day. He also talked to the DCDO about the current kibo activities under the Mvule program and asked kibo group to keep him in the loop. The district labor officer requested kibo group to open up an office at the district head offices by writing to the CAO asking for office space since there are many people who would love to know more about Kibo and its very hard to reach us. He told Alex that the district can give kibo an office at the district for free because of the good work Kibo has done in the district. Alex promised to share this with the superiors and get back the feed back. Alex also interacted with many LC1 chairmen that had turned up at the district head quarters to pick up their bicycles from the central government and they were encouraged to continue to spear heading all the kibo group programs in their villages.
