Notes
Suzan went to the village to follow up on the smearing of the facilities and also to continue teaching about the materials used for building the fuel efficient stoves. This time Suzan went to the upper section of the village in company of some selected committee group leaders and carried out a home to home visit. As they walked together, Suzan observed that most kitchens and other buildings needed to be smeared and reconstructed at the roof. Suzan kept on encouraging the community members to improve on their facilities before the actual stove building lessons began. She also showed the participants the materials needed for building the fuel efficient stoves such as particular type of grass because not all of them knew the kind of grass used, banana stems, water, saucepans, hoes, shovels and pangas. All these can easily be found within the community and completely free of charge. Both the men and women were excited about the new healthy and safe kitchens program and promised to keep attending all the lessons which will enable them improve on their daily lives. About 14 homes were visited that day at the upper section of the village and Suzan thanked each one for attending the meeting and wished them a happy stay.
