Notes
While in this community Chris and Alex bamulumbye introduced the idea of Kibo’s decision to give the goats to the community, at this stage, the community is already having an income generating activity meanwhile the community has to decide whether Kibo should give them the goats or support them through their income generating activity. In this community, the community members have to decide whether Kibo should support them through their onions growing project or give them the goats. Chris and Alex bamulumbye explained to the community the type of goats Kibo gives the community and why Kibo decides to give them the goats, this is intended to caution the community members not to misuse the goats and for them to own and prepare for the goats however Chris and Alex b emphasized that the final decision lies with the community wether to go on with goats or with their onions project but whichever way Kibo with support them. The news about Kibo’s decision to give the community goats drew mixed reactions from the community members, while many community members were very excited for Kibo’s decision, some members asked Kibo to give them some time so they can have a community meeting to talk about many issues regarding keeping goats. Mr Weere Farouk welcomed the Kibo’s idea and said it came at a time when the community is familiar with keeping goats and therefore they will use them to uplift their income levels however, Mr Mr Damba said Kibo’s decision to give them the goats is very excellent but deciding to raise goats is a very huge decision which involves necessities like time, finances, shelter, medical and they already have their onions project going on therefore the community has to come together to agree , the chairperson Mrs Norah Kasoga appealed to the community members and leaders to mobilize for the meeting slated to take place on Tuesday to decide on the Kibo’s decision to give them the goats. Chris will continue with the discussions on the above matter next week on Friday 18/03/2022, Chris will find out what the community decided to proceed with, onions project or goats.
