Notes
Abraham and Chris met Kazimbakujira community members and they started by moving around to mobilize some members who are not involved in community programs. They reached at Okecho’s home whereby they found him working on his new latrine. Mr Okecho said that he decided to do a permanent latrine because constructing a temporary one ends up being expensive. He said that he is going to attend the meeting and also he added that meeting them in their homes is very important because sometimes their leaders do not reach whereby few people come to the meeting. Abraham and the chairperson Mr Luke Sharply encouraged him to be joining the community because he has such good ideas for example he can encourage the community to do what he is doing to build a permanent latrine. They moved to fifteen homes inviting them to the meeting. They came to the meeting place and found ten new members who had joined them and the chairperson Mr Luke started by welcoming the new members. They discussed about their economic project and the chairperson told the meeting that they want to buy a tent with chairs and by now fifty members bought their plastic chairs. He said that they came up with this idea because whenever they could meet they were struggling to have seats for the members. They decided that each member can buy a plastic chair so that when they come to their meetings every member will have a sit. The new members asked how that will benefit the all community and the LC 1 defense Mr Ebera told them that they hope if they will get a tent they will be renting it to some members whereby that money will be helping like repairing their bore hole for the community. He added that they need to contribute to renew their certificate, they have also saving scheme. One new member asked about the work Kibo what it means and Abraham told him that it is the highest peak on Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. They were exiting and said that for them they thought means a basket. Chris told them that their thought is good because Kibo has many programs in the the basket. They are going to continue digging holes, putting manure for preparation for planting trees from Kibo.
