Notes
Suzan went to the village purposely to follow on smearing of the buildings and teach about the importance of stove building. When she arrived she found the group leaders who agreed to walk around the village especially at the upper section. As they walked, Suzan observed that most participants had smeared their buildings and constructed the firewood storages inside their kitchens. Amina one of the female participants was found in her kitchen with enough firewood stocked on its stand. When Kibo staff asked why and how she did it, she replied saying with the help of her husband and children, she managed to save enough firewood because it would soon be a rainy season making it hard to find firewood. Kibo staff also kept on encouraging the members to improve and maintain all their facilities as much as possible so as to live a healthy life with their families. She also explained to them why it was important to save firewood on their storages and save time for other development activities such as attending other Kibo lessons as well as any community activity. She also observed that some participants had began cooking on their fuel efficient stoves while the three stones open flames were taken outside. The participants were excited about the healthy and safe kitchen program saying it is greatly changing their lifestyle especially after receiving the new improved stove and cooking on it. She thanked each one for their time taken in the activity that day and wished them a happy stay.
