Notes
Ida went to Ndalike to teach about feeding chickens. When she reached the meeting place, only two women and one man were waiting for her. They reported that they had an emergency meeting after knowing that Ndalike primary school had sports on Friday, which could hinder most people from attending Kibo lessons. Members assigned ten people to stay such that Ida visits their homes and see the chicken coops they have if they can used. Ida with the help of two women and a man moved in ten homes were she observed different things. Stoves are still looking good, kitchens are smeared, jerrycans are clean, latrins are clean, some members have cows which they got from goats that Kibo gave and trees have grown. Ida saw three chicken coops of which two were perfect but one was not good for chickens. It was completely closed that chickens were going to suffocate. Coops need enough ventilation that the air will pass freely. Ida asked them to be patient for few weeks until they start teaching lessons on chicken coop building. During the home visits, Ida was able to talk to new people who didn’t know about Kibo and invited them in the meeting next time. The two chicken coops were very good and are permanent, Ida encouraged members to mobilize others that next time they keep time. After the home visits, Tatya the chairperson apologized on behalf of the village members for not having communicated to Ida about the school sports day, members didn’t want to miss out any lesson that’s why they arranged for the emergency meeting to have some people represent them) But Ida was thankful for the ten members he ( chairperson) had organized and encouraged them to at least call and inform her of any changes that she plans effectively. Tatya closed the day with a prayer.
