Notes
Suzan went to the village to follow up on the stove building progress and maintenance of other program facilities such as smearing of the houses. This is important because other participants still have poor kitchens which were leaking when it rains and not smeared. When she arrived, she walked with four group leaders whom she found at the meeting place. As they walked together, Suzan came across the some participants who received the fuel efficient stoves first and had began cooking on them. One of them called Naigaga reported that she was enjoying to cook on her new stove and her children were also comfortably participating in the cooking sometimes because there were no more firewood accidents in her kitchen. She also added that new members picked interest in the stoves after watching her happily cooking on her new stove. Her kitchen was neatly arranged with clean utensils on her dish rack which was so encouraging to see. Suzan approached other members who had poor kitchens and requested them to improve on them before they also received the fuel efficient stoves. She requested the members to continue working as a team during the stove building lessons as well as welcoming new members. One of the men Reported that they hardly found enough time to do so because they were so busy carrying out other family businesses in the nearby community centers but still promised to reconstruct the roofs once they find free time. She also requested the women to smear all their buildings so that everything looked neat. Kibo staff thanked the group members for their time and left the village.
