Notes
Diana and Ida went to Igerera B, lower section to continue with the lesson of love in the family. Unlike other days this was a unique day, the community kept time and also the attendance was good. Diana and Ida were happy. The chairman mr Kamya Charles opened with a word of prayer. He thanked the community for responding in big numbers. He appreciated the community empowerment Staffs for the good lessons that are transforming their village and promoting peace. He welcomed Ida and Diana to take them through the lesson. Diana thanked everyone for attending in big numbers, and encouraged them to always be vigilant in community empowerment lessons, since it tackles the family issues. She then took them through a recap of the previous lesson. She asked them what they learnt from the previous lesson, Kamya said that he learnt to always dine with his children while eating. This will help him to tell how his children, whether very fast or they eat while playing. He also added on that he should show love to his wife, care for her, help her whenever she needs help so that the children also will emulate from their family. Faridah also added on that she learnt to respect her husband and always be helpful to him, so that their family remains in love. Diana thanked them for their good answers, and told the rest of the members to clap for them. She encouraged them to always be free to participate in the community empowerment lessons, because this will make them remember everything that is taught to them. Diana later invited Ida to continue with the lesson of the day. As this was a participatory discussion, Ida started by asking them, how they are implementing the lessons that are taught to them in their families. Nangobi said that giving a listening ear to her husband has made them live happily in their marriage. Sarah also added on that by each one respecting their God-given roles, for example husbands should take care of their families, while the women should be responsible in looking after the children. Ida was impressed by the answers, she commended them and requested that the men should also involve themselves in cooking for the women once in a while, this will spice up the marriage in the family and encourage peace even in the children. She also added on that women should maintain hygiene in their marriages. This will keep their husbands and children around. She said that eating together with the whole family, binds them together and will promote joy in the family. The discussion went on well, and Ida had to conclude to allow the community members go to prepare food for their families. The chairman was too excited, he said that the community empowerment lessons have reduced his workload and encouraged them the community to be vigilant in attending the lessons.
