Notes
Maria visited Nawandyo A upper section to teach about diet/ nutritional, the causes of malnutrition, it’s signs and symptoms and how to get a meal which has balanced diet. The meeting started by discussing signs of malnutrition by both members and the staff; that person will have brown hair, loss of appetite, dry skin among other. Florence said that every mother or parent would love to see his or her child grow healthy but because of poverty most parents can not provide what the children need. Maria based on this discussion from members and said that we can use the locally available foods to make porridge which can help our bodies both adults and children. She demonstrated how to mix porridge, showing member the different types of foods; soya bean, beans, millet flour, maize flour, g.nut seeds, muteness etc. Members tested the foods that were given by the health educator, she further explained how one can get a healthy meal which builds the body, and by the end of the lesson most members promised to start practicing the process given by the health educator. Members were very great full for this topic because almost everyone went home knowing which type of food gives what. Maria informed the members that this was their last meeting I this section. Members thanked Kibo group so much for the love, care and knowledge given to them. The meeting was closed with a word of prayer.
