- Notes
- Alex met with the Namutumba District Forest officer to plan and Prepare how the over 2000 tree seedlings provided by his office will be distributed amongst the people in the villages Kibo group MCD program have picked. The condition that these trees were to only be planted in villages located in Magada and Bulange sub county was agreed by kibo and decided to select 4 communities from these sub counties. Mr. William has pledged more tree seedlings to kibo group to plant in the communities of Kibo. The DFO trust the way Kibo organize and prepare communities before trees are delivered and this has prompted him to get many tree seedlings this planting season to villages kibo has taught and prepared to plant trees. We agreed to first deliver 500 seedlings per village before adding more trees to other villages, the district forest office will provide more hard type of trees like mahogany, musizi, giant lira and Buleveria. Together they visited one nursery bed in Namutumba to check on the tree seedlings that will be purchased by the district. Alex was unable to reach Buluvu village due to the heavy down pour later that afternoon but rather talked to the community leader Mrs. Jowelia and Mulani to mobilize the village for a general meeting with kibo group staff preparing them to receive trees that will be provided by the DFO.
