Notes
Tape and Suzan went to Namusita village to teach the community members how to build the fuel efficient stove. According to observations, the community members were so excited about the stove building lessons whereby they had already gathered the materials going to be used for building the stove. Kibo staff divided the group into two groups because the members were quite many and couldn’t fit in one kitchen. Two groups were formed with each led by Kibo staff in two different kitchens. The community members worked together with the Kibo staff members by stamping the dirt until it got ready. As they stamped the dirt while singing, it attracted more new members to come to the site where the stoves were going to be built. The new members also picked interest in the lessons and also joined the other members in the activities. Kibo staff requested the participants to take in the dirt into the kitchens and they began building the stove step by step while explaining all the process to the community. In the end, two demonstration stoves were successful build and the community members rejoiced by singing and thanking Kibo group staff for the new kitchen program. Kibo group thanked all the participants for attending the lessons and encouraged them to maintain the same spirit of working together for an effective development in their community.
