Notes
Tape, and Jessica went to the village to teach the community members how to build the fuel efficient stove. This time Kibo staff was going to focus on guiding the members as they try to build the stove on their own. When they arrived, they found the community members busy stamping the dirt meaning they had mastered certain steps such as measuring the the dirt and grass while mixing it together at a ratio of 2:1 basins. This was a sign of interest in the lessons by the community but although they had learnt some steps, Kibo staff went ahead and joined the group in the stove building lessons because they had not learnt perfectly. They took measurements on the floor where the stove was going to be constructed and placed the two saucepans at the right position while the community was watching aside. This was one of the complicated steps and once carried out wrongly, the stove would be built poorly or bent. Some of the active participants Tiff and Najibu participated in the stove building with the Kibo staff members and also cut the banana stems under the guidance of Kibo staff. Kibo staff also kept on correcting the mistakes that the members did to make sure they learnt easily and faster. In the end, one stove was successfully built that day and the community was so grateful for the lessons promising to maintain all their facilities.
