Notes
A lesson about hand washing triggering was conducted by Alex in Kagulu village. A total of 53 people attended this lesson and were amazed how important it is to wash their hands with soap at all critical times. The emphasis was built around after visiting the pit latrine and also teaching all the kids the values of hand washing. Alex W demonstrated the values of hand washing with two young girls from Kagulu who surely did a good job to show to their parents and fellow kids that they needed to wash hands before eating anything and after visiting the pit latrine. Hand washing with soap proved to be very important in our lives as the hands were cleaned thoroughly with soap and germs are killed by soap. Two builders learnt how to build the stand and will move around the village constructing for all people in all the homes in Kagulu. The community was reminded to maintain a safe water chain and maintain their sanitation and hygiene facility standards. A committee of 5 people was selected to spear head this program in the village to ensure every household has got a hand washing stand. Each home that construct the hand washing stand will receive a free hand washing jerrycan provided by kibo group. Two bags of cement and 32 jerrycans were left with the treasurer of the committee to give out whoever will be buying cement and give a jerrycan to those that have completed the stand.
