Notes
On his way to Kishaike village, Alex met with the RDC, District Natural resource officer, DFO, District water engineer, District councilor. At Namutumba district head office, the RDC Mr. Matende thanked kibo group for the development partnership in the district and promised to fuel this partnership to continue and asked if incase Kibo group needed any help, they should visit his office at any time. He also told Alex that he would follow up with the Natural resource officer to make sure the district fulfills the promise of giving trees to the villages kibo has organized. The RDC also asked for a brief report about other kibo programs in the district and Alex updated him. He also suggested that Kibo group will be invited at the upcoming district coordination meeting. The Natural resource officer Mr. Daud Ikaaba assured Alex of the trees that the district is expecting to get from the ministry of environment any time soon and will be planted in several villages in the district including the area that was recently damaged by a very bad storm sweeping many homes and a government school was badly damaged due to lack of trees that would have acted as wind breakers. Alex has made several trips to the district head quarters to follow up on the trees promised by the district. He also gave a list of community members that want to plant trees among the four villages being prepared by kibo group to receive these trees. The trees were promised to be delivered around mid April but also there are worries of sunshine that has set in lately making it very difficult to plant trees. Alex managed to meet the leaders in Kishaike and discussed a list of the village members that want to benefit and plant the trees. A total of about 1024 trees are needed in Kishaike village. Alex however encouraged the village leaders to meet all people and advise them on a manageable number of trees one can take care of. The Mvule community development program will continue to meet with these village residents to prepare them before these trees are received and also follow up with the district about the trees.
