- Bible Lesson 1: The Light of the world
- Notes
- Ida went to Sinde and taught about "Jesus the light of the world "
This is the first lesson in Sinde which prepares the community for the rest of the lessons. She uses a story of an old woman who didn't fear to participate in a game but was brave enough to compete with men. The game involved an empty room and the assignment was to fill up this room with whatever they had. Many people brought furniture, tools etc but this woman just turned on the light and this filled up the whole room. The moral behind the story and what we should learn from this old woman is, we are all the light of the world,we must behave in such a way that people who see us,see Christ in us.
Most people fear to start up new things just because they have never seen others do it. Ida asked the community to list down things done in the light and those in the dark.
These are their responses(Things done in the Dark):
1. Witch craft
2 Theft
3 Drinking alcohol
4 Adultery
5 Gambling
In the Light:
1. Forgiving
2 loving
3 kindness
4 Gentleness and all the fruit of the Spirit.
Ida encouraged the community to be the light that people will see Christ in them.
