Notes
Harriet went to Kamudoke to follow up on stove building progress. She walked through some homes to see the stoves that the community has so far built on their own from the time kibo last visited them. They had perfectly built 10 stoves on their own but the challenge was they had built for some members who had not yet smeared their kitchens. This made the kitchens not to look neat though they had stoves inside . At the end kibo staff and the community had a meeting where by she thanked the community for working together that has enabled them learn how to build stoves and building for other participants. She encouraged the community to ensure that before some one gets a stove to smear her kitchen first because at times people become reluctant to smear their home facilities after getting stoves. The community through the Chairperson for the healthy and safe kitchens program thanked kibo for the advise and being patient with them, they said that they plan to finish stove building exercise by early may where by every member will be having a stove. They also promised to smear their home facilities especially those ones who were lagging behind.
