Notes
Ida went to Ndalike to teach about raising chickens. After the recap from the previous lesson , Ida thanked the community for keeping time and for the great participation. In this lesson there are two major things needed ,Vaccination and coop building She taught about the chicken vaccines and the importance. Chickens that are vaccinated have less chances of acquiring diseases from other birds. She also talked about the stages when vaccinations are to be done. She also discussed with the community members about the vaccine table she gave and how important is to follow the directions. Chicken coops are as important as houses to our children. The coops save the chics from the wild birds , animals and rain. During the discussion Kisame Fred asked that why do they have to vaccinate chickens these days and yet their grand parents never? Ida asked the community members what they thought. Tatya Ise replied that things have changed these days compared to our grandparents time, the soil is tired and dry due to natural hazards, global warming and artificial chemicals put in the soil. So if you hesitate to put the artificial cmemicals in your garden then use the local (organic) manure in order to harvest something. Rehema asked that will Kibo provide the market Mugote the VHT replied saying that Kibo is giving us skill to do things on our own just as schools do. He asked “ do schools provide jobs for our children?” The discussion ended with a prayer led by Batuli David.
