Notes
When Lorna arrived in the village it was rather quiet and everyone seemed to be on tension. Lorna got a rumor that one of the community members was being chased from his house by his sister. He had been living in this property for a long time but now his sister wanted her land back. Muyodi however together with his wife refused to move from the land. Muyodi went ahead a removed the land marks and threw them a way and because of this he was taken to jail for one night and released in bond. The community leaders were called to help intervene in the matter where the sister agreed to give him a part of her land so that he could add to the one he bought nearby but he still rejected and went to the police however the police sent him back to the village leaders. Also the previous night they caught a thief who stole his neighbors hen when he received guests , they were able to buy beef but when they saw it wasn’t enough , he decided to slaughter the neighbors hen. The thief denied however he was punished by carrying a hot saucepan in his head. It was so embarrassing for the guests. When we started the meeting as usual we had an opening prayer and opening remarks from the chairperson. Wilber led us through the review session which was in Alcohol and drug abuse and thereafter, Lorna decided that instead of going to the lesson of the day, they were going to revisit a previous topic on steps in decision making. All the community members were disappointed in Muyodi because he was in the Life Skilss lessons and the community members mentioned he should have used the knowledge he acquired to resolve the situation. We looked at steps in decision making for example; seeking advise from others which Muyodi did but Lorna also mentioned when one seeks advice from anyone it is on their part to listen to the advice given which was nit the case. The topic was not about Muyodi but was about how can we do better when faced with a similar situation that it may not be Muyodi but it could be another website but how can we use the information we have to avoid such circumstances. Lorna also mentioned think of the consequences of the decision as another step in decision making. The purpose is to look at who else will be hurt or affected by the action of this person could be the wife, children , community at large. We looked at persona, family m religious values to consider all of this before a decision is made. Lorna added that we need to listen to advice given since there is more wisdom in listening than talking. This can save the situation from getting worse. Wakiso put up his hand and also mentioned that we learnt about managing our emotions anger and he mentioned no one should make any decision in that state of mind. It was an interesting lesson to remind ourselves concerning good decision making and it’s consequences. Lorna did not intervene in the matter afterwards because the clan and police were already involved and Muyodi was given a few days to leave this plot of land. Lorna mentioned reconciliation. An I am who had come to the meeting for the first time appreciated the lesson and thanked Lorna for sensitizing them on such skills. Lorna mentioned that in the next week we will look at the intended topic for today which was on Abortion. She asked them to bring their older children to this lesson.

Program Success
Today is when Isa mentioned that these lessons of life skills have improved his marriage together with his wife. His wife used to come alone to the meetings however his wife used to always share with him on what transpires and he decided to come by himself and since then he has never turned back. This was so good to hear. Thanks to Kibo
