Notes
Suzan went to the village to follow up on the stove building progress and smearing of the buildings at the lower of the village. When she got there, she found six committee group leaders at the meeting place waiting under a mango tree. Suzan together with the leaders agreed to visit some homes of members who had already started cooking on their stoves. The group chairperson informed Suzan how some members were still repairing their kitchens before receiving the stoves. These were some of the active participants who got involved in the stove building lessons most of the time but had poor kitchens. One of the male participants said he wouldn’t mind being among the last members to receive a fuel efficient stove stove because he first wanted to construct a bigger kitchen for his wife. He also said he was so happy he had learnt all the stove building skills which will make it easier to build his stove. Suzan also observed that most members had neatly smeared and maintained their facilities as well as the stoves. She encouraged those who had not smeared their buildings to improve on them so that everything looked uniform and neat. The stove building lessons was still going on because more new members had joined the group which was encouraging to hear. Kibo staff reminded the participants to keep all their facilities neat and smeared so that they lasted longer enough. The group leaders promised to keep following on those who still had poor facilities and encourage them to improve on them. Kibo staff thanked the members for their time and wished them a happy stay.
