Notes
Both Alex W and Alex B visited a total of 18 homes in the upper section of the village following up on trees that were given by Kibo group MCD program and planted recently by the village. They continued to encourage community members to plant more trees on their own as well as continue to care for the trees. On a very good note, there are more trees that have been planted by people on their own. For example there are more fruit trees like Ovacados, Jack fruits and mangoes planted by people in Buluvu. The people were encouraged to continue planting more in every home visited during this rain season. The committee led by Mrs. Jowelia have demonstrated good leadership by encouraging all people to embrace tree planting in the community and would surely say that over 80% of the people have each planted atleast one tree in their homes to address the challenge of climate change in their village. Together with the MCD committee members they visited a community member called Yazidi who embarked on a fish farming project. He is one example in the village to the rest of the people to unite and come up with something they can do together. This man has been in this project for now about 3 years and testified good about this project and he is willing to partner with all community members to engage in this economic activity. MCD staff will continue to go back to follow up with the remaining households checking on their trees planted and give advise where necessary.
