Notes
Suzan and Tape went to the village to continue teaching the community members how to build the fuel efficient stoves. When they reached, they found when the members had already organized the materials for building the stoves in two different homes. The group chairperson told Kibo staff that they had agreed to construct for two members that day. Two groups were formed and led by Kibo staff each, they went to two separate homes and began building the stoves together. Most of the steps were performed by Kibo staff because most members had not learnt all the skills very well. The mixed the dirt and stamped it separately in two different kitchens with excitement while singing songs of joy. During the whole process, Kibo staff kept on showing the participants how the steps were carried out especially at the beginning of the stove building such as taking measurements between the saucepans and targeting the right wind direction. Kibo staff also taught the members how to properly cut and shape the banana stems which were going to be placed into the stoves. Some of the active participants also participated in the stove building lessons and together they managed to build two fuel efficient stoves. The community was so grateful for the lessons taught and promised to always attend all the program lessons for effective development.
