Notes
As the Mvule program come to a close of it’s activities and presence in Bukudumira village, both Alex B and Alex W went to asses and evaluate what the community is doing on their own and how they have managed to look after their goats they got from Kibo a few months ago. This village first informed the kibo staff sometime back of the plans they had to buy a new tent and chairs for their community and indeed they fulfilled this promise. The community worked together and managed to raise 3.5 Million Uganda shillings on their own and bought a new tent that will be used when they have parties and funerals. This on top of buying a new tent, they have started raising money to buy 100 plastic chairs to sit on under their new tent. This is one way the community has demonstrated self sustainability by engaging in other activities on their own. The community leaders led by the old active lady Mrs. Margaret have been very active encouraging all people to work together to do other activities since kibo group has shown them the way. Out of the 55 goats that were given to Bukudumira village by kibo group, these goats have multiplied and so far three cows have been exchanged out of the goats that multiplied. This is the kibo way helping communities to flourish by partnering with communities to tackle poverty through provision of goats. A closure report will be conducted in July to mark the official end of Mvule program visits in Bukudumira.
