Notes
While in this community the leaders reported about the outbreak of a rear disease that attacked all livestock in the district of Namutumba and five goats and two cows have been affected , the disease causes the swelling of stomachs and eventually the goat or cow collapses however the veterinary doctor who has been following up the goats said this is caused by the type of grass these goats are feeding on, he said when the community is getting out of a long drought the community tends not to isolate their goats from dangerous grass since there is always scarcity of water and grass, the veterinary doctor will go back as soon as the community agrees on the clinic day to treat all livestock in the community, however the good news is that 25 of the 55 goats Kibo group gave to the community are pregnant and almost giving birth any time. The chairperson Mr Otim took Chris and Abraham to fields where most of the goats feed from, they observed that despite the outbreak of bloating disease, most of the goats are looking healthy, chris and Abraham advised the chairperson to encourage the community hold regular clinic days to monitor the livestock in the community, the chairperson said he will call for a community meeting on Friday to agree on the clinic day . Chris and Abraham shall coordinate with the veterinary doctor as soon as the community agrees on the clinic day.
