caring for goats
Notes
In Bupaluka village, it had been reported to Kibo group that two goats had died and so Alex went in to meet with community leaders to discuss more about caring for their goats during this rainy season. It’s a norm that during the rainy season, goats easily fall sick and can die if not properly managed. The community leaders were encouraged to follow up with all the community members who received goats to make sure goats are dewormed and not left outside in the rains as this puts a goat in a big risk. The community leaders led by Mr. Mutoto and Peter were also encouraged to think big and lobby for their village through government projects and other NGO’s. The village also needs to engage in other community projects on their own and in doing this, they will demonstrate to kibo group that it’s a transformed community and sustainability has been achieved. Mr. Utah, the LC1 chairman was also reminded to remain proactive and work with the rest of the leaders to ensure community development. Alex with the leaders visited some homes while checking on goats and it’s noted that about 20 goats are pregnant and will soon bear baby goats. A total of 41 hand washing stands have so far been completed in this village. Alex continued to encourage all people and the leaders to make sure all homes in Bupaluka embrace hand washing and maintain their sanitation and hygiene standards.
