Notes
After visiting the pond that the lower section uses for water, Tom and the members came to the meeting place to discuss the process of the hand washing improvements in the village. During the meeting, members pointed to a challenge of the chairman of the village as well as the thought in people that the program if for only the kibo Mvule members who recently received goats. On the issue of the chairman, they accused him of not being active and moving along with the rest of the members trying to promote hand washing. Tom emphasized that the hand washing is for every one in the community just like the sanitation program before. Tom also encouraged the defense if the village who was also in the meeting to tell the chairman of the committee’s grievances. The committee members promised to meet and discuss with the chairman on how best they can all engage the community. On the issue of water, Tom advised and encouraged them to focus on sanitation and hygiene improvements for now as a first priority.
