Notes
Harriet was in kalalu village to follow up on stove building materials ( grass) that will be used to build stoves and smearing progress in preparation of stove building. She reached in the village and walked home to home inspecting smearing progress in preparation of stoves and the necessary requirements ( all the sanitation facilities) before some one gets a stove. She concentrated in the lower section of the village and walked through over 25 homes .she found when most participants had all the sanitation facilities required for stove building .These facilities are shower areas, latrines, dish racks, strong kitchens among others.some participants have started smearing their home facilities though some were still lagging behind and she encouraged them to improve. Also the community has so far chopped one bag of grass that will be used to build stoves. This quantity of grass will be enough to build the first demonstration stove. The community has a meeting place where they all meet twice a week to chop grass which was so encouraging because working together leads to success. Kibo staff encouraged to continue working together as well as encourage one another to maintain those facilities as well as participating in the healthy and safe kitchens program.
