It was all celebrations and time for giving success stories from the far Kibo group has come and to where they have reached with the community of buyange as the households where receiving 96 goats from Kibo group, the community entertainment group did a great job of keeping the guests from all walks of life entertained, the chief guest of the function was the RDC ( resident district commissioner) , Mr Thomas Matende, who represents the president in the district of Namutumba , he came with a big time of government officials from the district who included the LC5 chairman Mr Mukisa Patrick, the DFO (district forestry officer) , the District Veterinary Doctor and the DCDO (District Community Development Officer) meanwhile the sub county was also well represented by the CDO, parish chief, parish councilor, the LC3 and the veterinary doctor. The RDC , Mr Matende Thomas thanked Kibo group for the great partnership with the government they have exhibited, he said it is all because of teamwork , trust and good working relations that Kibo group is able to do its work smoothly in the community however mr Thomas Matende had a few recommendations for Kibo to sustain its development activities in the community. Mr Matende Thomas appealed to Kibo to encourage the homes to grow vegetables for home consumption in order to decrease the would-be pressure on the goats they have received from Kibo. He also requested Kibo to intensify life skill lessons both in the community and the schools, he mentioned about the making of cheap reusable sanitary pads , he said many school going girls drop out of school at an early age due to lack of sanitary pads therefore he requested Kibo to equip the community with skills and facilities of making their own sanitary pads. The District Veterinary Doctor also appealed Kibo to intensify the goats clinic days , he said this will help to follow up the goats and lead to sustainability of the program. The community development officer , Mrs Betty pledged to continue following up the community especially on the goats program and also forward other development activities to the community, she thanked Kibo for bridging the gab between the government and the community.
