Notes
Harriet ,Barbra and Keith went to Busene village to follow up on smearing progress and firewood storage stands. They reached in the village and teamed up with the chairperson Lc1 who volunteered to walk with her to the homes of the participants who has got stoves so far. They walked through over 20 homes and most homes had smeared their home facilities except three homes and this had forced the stoves to develop cracks. She encouraged them to smear their stoves too to enable them look neat and last longer. The interesting part of the day she found a man Joel helping his wife who was sick to smear her kitchen and the stove which was cool to see.Joel said that since he participated in building this stove,he values it so much and doesn’t want it to get spoiled because he has tested its benefit . He added that the stove is so useful for the entire family not to his wife alone. Also most homes that had stoves had firewood storage stand, some lacked firewood and Harriet encouraged them to stock them with firewood which they will use during scarcity. Those who did not have firewood storages were encouraged to put them in place and stock them with wet wood. The women promised to work with their husbands to put them in place.
