Notes
Martin went to ltuba Namalowe to check on the sanitation and hygiene improvement, from the section of the trading center towards the upper section passing via the primary school back to the trading center. Mostly for those homes who are still lagging behind on their sanitation facilities like those who are still digging their pit latrines, dish racks and shower facilities. He walked around that section with the Chairman LC1 and the sanitation committee. Generally the community members have and are working so hard on their sanitation facilities like Ali Swaga a VHT member, he was so stubborn when it came to sanitation facilities since kibo started working in ltuba Namalowe as a village. They were so encouraged because he dug a new pit latrine of 30ft deep, he is planning to construct it with bricks and cement which is so good, Agenensi Nakasango Batuli is also encouraging their grand son to dig for her a new pit latrine because the old one was broken by the heavy rain it’s now 6ft deep, Sulayimani Bavekuno’s new pit is 20ft deep and it’s under construction, Julias Mutenga constructed a strong shower area with bricks and cement at the top and Stephen Babinga’s new pit latrine 25ft is also under construction. Martin and the group were encouraging them about the standards, maintenance and smearing of their sanitation facilities like latrines, kitchens and shower facilities to make their homes clean as well as their village. They walked in 35homes.

Martin was teaching him the use of ash to eliminate flies and smell in the latrine.
We were so encouraged to that old woman encouraging their grandchildren to dig a pit latrine.
