- Notes
- Martin went to Kagulu village to check on the sanitation and hygiene improvement, in the section of the village from the trading center towards Bugiri primary school checking on facility constructions such as latrine, dish racks, shower facilities, rubbish pits and other facilities. For those who are still working on their sanitation facilities. He walked around with the Chairman LC1 and the sanitation committee members, while encouraging the residents about latrine maintenance through the use of ash to eliminate flies and smell in their latrines. Generally even if there those who are still working on their sanitation facilities, the larger number of people had worked on their sanitation facilities and maintained them, because when they were walking around that section, they saw five families who had worked so hard on their sanitation facilities. One of the homes they visited was that of Bosco Nabeta he had worked so hard on hi home sanitation facilities, Ndikalone Odomere another he member had also worked on his sanitation facilities like the latrine, rubbish pit, dish rack, kitchens and they are all smeared and he is on his shower area. Efulansi Baguma another member constructed a nice kitchen and smeared it, when her husband was sick. The community members also requested to be taught about the setting of the hand washing facilities. They then had a short meeting to discuss how they can set up one. They decided to mobilize the community members to come at one place to teach them about the setting of the hand washing facility.
A group of 30 people started their saving scheme, and they’re planning to call kibo members to open it officially.
