Ws Notes
David and Steven went to naibowa and their intention of going there was to meet with the committee members move around and know the exact size and boundaries of the village. David and Steven first moved to Butansi which was the sub county of naibowa, they wanted to introduce what next Kibo group was planning to do in naibowa before the sub county leaders . At the sub-county David and Steven introduced all the Kibo programs which have ever been in naibowa before the sub county chief mr Tidhomu Moses who was at the sub county.David went ahead and explained more about some of the Kibo programs which have ever been in the village . Out of the five Kibo programs three programs have been in the village; Mvule program was the first,WASH which did so much of hygiene and sanitation improvements and also did the borehole repairs 2016 then came in the CEP program. The WASH program is back again for the first baseline survey then later after assessing the hygiene status of the entire village ,they hope to revive the sanitation and hygiene of the entire village because it was a long while ever since the wash program had stopped its activities in this village. David revealed it before the sub county chief mr Tidhomu Moses that Kibo intends to drill a borehole, as the one they had repaired for them later got some issues with its water being salty. The area residents told David and Steven that ,they were only using that salty water for feeding their animals. Also the Kibo staff said ,they wanted to reduce on the longer distances moved by the residents of that village. David and Steven then headed to naibowa village where they found the community members along with the area Leader Lc mr Tenywa yeseri had gathered waiting for them. They sat down and strategized on how best they would carry out a baseline survey. The area leader together with the Kibo staff concluded that the best strategy was to Partition the entire village into four parts and each group that will be carrying out the survey process should be headed by the area residents who will be well conversant with each part of the village. After that they were led by the water and sanitation committee members as they were moving, the area residents kept on showing David and Steven the clear size boundaries of the village. David and Steven discovered during their survey tour around the entire village that the village had about 800 people and 400 households. David thanked the area leader Tenywa yeseri together with the committee members for the greatlove they had towards the development of their village. In addition to the above the treasurer Mr Lubale told David that they didn’t have any money for their borehole account reason being that some of the committee members were weak and not playing out their roles well.Kibo staff also discovered that some of the committee members were weak towards mobilizing others to contribute money for the sustainability of their well. They said that there was need to re elect new active committee members. In general the hygiene status of naibowa wasn’t meeting the required standards.
