- Buyange village will soon, effective next week start to enjoy the safe and clean water from the new borehole that Kibo recently drilled in this village. All the homes in the lower part of this community about 50 households are very excited to start using this borehole

- Alex was in Buyange village to guide the community as they enact their borehole bylaws for the new borehole. Together, they agreed and came up with 12 bylaws in total among which was, to open the borehole from 6:00am and to close it at 7:00pm, have an active water user committee at all times, each household to contribute 4000/= every year towards the borehole account maintainence and repair, only a person or kid from 8 years and above is supposed to come and pump the borehole, no animals are supposed to drink water from the borehole, only clean Jerrycans are supposed to be used when getting water from the borehole and many more that they agreed upon. This is an exciting and great step that sums up what the community has to meet before the community can start to use the water. The community also had a discussion and agreed on how to manage their borehole funds. The community already contributed 300,000sh for the borehole account as required. They agreed that the chairperson ,Faridha Tamwenda whom the community trusted to be their committee leader to use that money in her business and be able to make some profit and be able to give back 15000/= every month. Also the community was told to use only one Hand pump mechanic in the sub county and not to let anybody they see open up the borehole trying to fix it as such people can end up running away with the good borehole parts and put in bad ones. They need to call someone in Kibo to notify them if the borehole has broken so that we know who exactly is working on it and some of the community members to witness what is being fixed. Alex will plan to go back and commission this borehole so that the community can start using this borehole.
