Water Access Explain
The community has one borehole located near the swamp but also the water is salty and this makes it not fit for drinking. This same borehole was the one that was repaired by Kibo group 2 years ago. The nearest borehole with safe water for drinking is located 2.6km and it’s shared by three communities nearby. Also this borehole with safe water broke down three weeks ago

Village Notes
The borehole located in another village of Bufesa was drilled by Plan international in 2013 but it recently broke down and this makes the water access issues even harder.

Notes
Alex W, David and Kambale Steven carried out a baseline survey for the village of Naibowa to determine the hygiene and sanitation status of the village. The data collected will guide us to have the best approach for this village. The village applied for water in Kibo group through writing an application three years ago and requested through Ida that has been currently working with this community. Back in 2015, kibo carried out a sanitation and hygiene improvement campaign before repairing a borehole in this village. Plan international also did a sanitation program in this village using their CLTS approach from 2013 to 2015. This first evaluation will guide the water sanitation and hygiene program on how to approach this village again before the borehole is drilled. This village has had three programs so far including; Mvule, CEP and the borehole repair. We shall go back after analyzing the data that was collected. In total we evaluated 63 households that make up this village.

3122 This borehole broke down three weeks ago. It was installed with PVC pipes. It needs a new cylinder according to what one of the community members told us. However all the parts were removed. This borehole was drilled by Plan international, an NGO that worked in the whole of Naibowa parish.
