Notes
Introduction Manuela and Lorna went to Kivule primary school to teach the pupils about communication styles, Manuela taught them about what passive is and what Assertiveness is. This lesson is aimed at encouraging the pupils to behave in an Assertive way in their lives, Manuela also taught the pupils about what passive and aggressive behaviour is. Objective - By the end of the session Manuela and Lorna expect the pupils to identify passive,Assertive and Aggressive behaviours. - by the end of the session pupils will be able to define the term Passive, Aggressive and Assertive. Overview Manuela and Lorna arrived at school and they went direct to the Life Skills class, Manuela started by greeting the pupils and asking them about the previous lessons. During this session some pupils were Able to share what they learnt last week, after that Manuela introduced a lesson about communication styles, Manuela told the pupils that communication style is a behaviour associated with communication skills. For example Manuela explained to the pupils what passive is(A person cannot make decisions for her/himself./ Is a yes person), what Assertive is (Standing up for ones own rights without oppressing the others rights)and what Aggressive is(A rude person) as all the behaviours associated under the communication style. After teaching the pupils, Lorna also came in and did an evaluation on the lesson taught earlier about communication styles, evaluation is done to access if the pupils understood the lesson and it is through an evaluation that Manuela and Lorna can decide to re teach the pupils or go on and introduce another lesson. Lorna and Manuela realised that the pupils did not understand this lesson well and therefore plan to repeat this lesson. Conclusion At end of the lesson Manuela and Lorna advised the pupils to take good care of them selves because these days there are so many kidnapers around and they are so much interested in girls. They went on and advised the pupils to develop daily readings time tables so they can read their notes and also they told the pupils to make good friends that can help them with academic issues
