Lesson Taught
Bible Lesson 3: The love of God
Notes
Ida went to Sinde and taught about "God's love " She used a story of the lost son from the book of Luke 15:11-32. Nabirye Agnes read the scripture and later the community discussed about the story. Bwire asked who is the lost son among them? Baraja answered that all of them. And he continued giving his reasons as to why he thinks they are all lost. 1 He said that they were all deserters , who walked away from our fathers home (God) to do our own things. 2. We have refused to come back to our senses and ask God (father)for forgiveness. 3.We are all participating in bad habits like the lost son. For example drinking alcohol, take cigarettes, fornicate and very many bad things. Hamise asked Ida what should they do? She bounced back the question to the community, then Bwire asked Nabwire to read the scripture again and let every one listen attentively. After the reading, he said they must come back to their senses and decide to go back to their father and beg for forgiveness just as the lost son did. Daudi Wamaye pointed out that much has been spoken about the lost son, what about the one who stayed at home? Susan said some of them were like that son, when our friends come back from exile or the far country, they tend to feel bad, jealousy and want to leave for some other place because of the love these victims receive. She added that it is good to celebrate together with those who come back home. The lesson was community centred and very interactive as the whole community was participating.r
