Notes
Enock, the LC1 and VHT walked around to check on the new latrine construction, new dish racks, rubbish pits, kitchen areas, shower areas, clean compounds and the proper use all the facilities. They walked home to home sensitising, encouraging, monitoring and evaluating the progress of sanitation and hygiene of their village. They also continued reminding them about the set date for accomplishing all the facilities that they set during the day of triggering. There are some new latrines constructed with brick and cement, they made strong foundations with concrete and gravel. Although most of the people are in the harvesting period, they are working so hard to complete their facilities in time. They saw 8 newly dug latrine holes, 4 new dish racks, 7 new rubbish pits, 2 shower areas well constructed with brick walls. The people are now able to take showers during the day unlike before when they waited for the night and used the bushes around their homes. Most people have already realised the development in their homes since they are now having most of the facilities well smeared. There are families which for a long time never had a latrine before whereby they only practiced open defection but now have latrines. There are two families who have good standard latrines. Enock, the LC1 and VHT emphasised to the residents on the importance of these facilities, standardisation, and sustainability of all the facilities. The community members are embracing the program and are willing to improve on the sanitation and health conditions.

3206 This gentleman is called Paya Charles a resident in kalitumba village. He completed his latrine and even painted it. He thanks the program of water sanitation and hygiene program for teaching them the importance of sanitation and hygiene. His wife was so happy because they have a good latrine, before they used to practice open defection.
