Ws Notes
David and Steven went to nawampiti in the lower part of the community where they faced a-big challenge of their toilets which were constructed on sandy ground collapsing as a result of the heavy rains. when they reached the village they moved first to the upper part of the village because they wanted to check on the progress in Bumba Simon's home. Previously they had left him without a shower area and a kitchen. However on a good note, they found when he had finished constructing his shower area and the kitchen was left only to be roofed.David and Steven were so impressed by Bumba simon's improvement in his home and encouraged him to talk to his neighbours to help him with the grass to be used for the roofing of his kitchen. They also moved to the other home of kaswabuli medi whom they left also previously without a dish rack, but good enough also he had finished the construction of his dish rack. In addition to that David and Steven went to the the lower section of the community which was mostly affected by the heavy rains. They also visited the home of wabusa John but were not impressed because he used weak materials to construct his pit latrine . Therefore because he wasn’t in his home ,they guided his wife on how best he would have constructed his pit latrine. Wabusa John,s wife told David that she will forward the advice to the husband .From there they went to wanyanja Hasani's home where they found when the construction on his pit was in progress unfortunately, he had put two rooms on his pit yet his toilet wasn’t worth for the two rooms.David advised him to break the other provision of the next room so that he would be able to use one room which was to the required standardised size. Wanyanja yasoni appreciated the advise and promised David to do as they had agreed.David went to kagawa the treasurer he wanted to really check if the money they had encouraged them to contribute towards their borehole account was being fully raised in the both parts of the community.David was impressed seeing that both parts of the community were able to raise the Whole amount of money worthy 400000 shillings. On that note David continued encouraging them to continue working together. As David and Steven were coming from the home of the treasurer, they found the LC3 mr. Bagise was also planning to visit these three homes which were working at a slower rate to give them a set deadline of four days to work on the facilities lacking in their homes.
Generally the community of nawampiti have worked to the required standards except the three homes which are still lacking on their sanitation facilities .r
