- Notes
- Abraham met twenty eight Ikumbya community members and the chairperson Mrs Nabirye told the meeting that they moved around checking trees and found that ten trees died, five of them some people stole them from where they were planted and the five it was because of animals they were protected with cages around them but because the animals were many so they stepped on the trees. She said they have taken the concern to the LC1 chairman to warn those people with animals.
Abraham thanked them for the good work done because they have one hundred and ninety Mvule trees in the village. He encouraged them to continue keeping those trees which are still alive, he told them that they are going to get more trees for replacement next month. They had a woman representative elected at local council one but the election entailed lining at the back of the candidate and that has created a division in the community, it was better to do it with ballot papers because it is a secret thing but this one was an open thing where the candidate sees those who did not vote for them. There is also the upcoming LC1 elections and it will be the same and that may also divide the people. This will make villages again to go back in hating each other because if they voted for the one who did not go through they will be in trouble or even if the one who went through may be not in the ruling part and that will leave villagers divided. Abraham is planning to go back to the village teaching more of how they can work together using a story of a Good Samaritan.
We need to Pray for the issue and we hope people will understand that working together is the best thing not politics.
