Lesson Taught
Bible Lesson 7: The Tongue
Notes
Ida went to Nabikenge and taught about the "The Tongue " before the lesson, Margaret said a prayer for the class. She asked the community if they knew what the Tongue was. Kanifa said that the tongue is a tribe, Moses said that it's a small part of our bodies. Ida told a story of the five mice or rats. These rats were going somewhere unfortunately something had blocked the road. They sat and thought of what they should do. A great idea came from one of them, the idea was to go one at a time to avoid dying at a ago. They all had to come back and report what each one saw.The first one came and reported that he saw a wall, the second saw a spear, the third saw a trunk, the forth saw things that looked like basins. The last one took enough time and explored the whole thing. Most times people are like these first four rats, they don't take time to explore the whole thing, they just take a small portion of a story and end up causing chaos. The fifth mouse found out the real thing after taking enough time exploring. He saw an elephant! The one who saw a wall was right because it was its belly, the one who saw a spear was also right because it's tail looks like a spear, the one who saw a trunk was also right because he saw its leg and the one who saw things that looked like basins was right too because its big ears look like basins. The last one saw all those things and put them together. Ida asked them to stop saying things they dont know and asked them to first explore the whole thing/situation before saying anything. Ida then asked Ssegonga to read a scripture from the book of James 3:2-12. The community listened attentively and wondered how God can talk to people through other people. Nabirye Lovisa asked what must be done to control their tongues, Ida gave them a memory verse that will help and remind them to think before talking. Ephesians 4:29. The next time, they will be looking at how to control the Tongue.
