- Notes
- Harriet, Jeska and Tape found when the participants had already mixed and stamped the dirt for the two stoves that they had planned to build.
Kibo staff divided the community into two groups whereby each group went to one home where the stoves were to be built.
Kibo staff asked the community to try building stoves as they guide them / instruct them. The goal is to ensure that they learn how to build stoves so that they start building on their own and help the neighbouring communities.
The women were hesitant to try but the men came up and tried and Kibo staff were correcting them when they made mistakes and two stoves were built.
Harriet encouraged the women also to always participate other than leaving the men only to participate that is practice makes perfect.
She also told them that the stoves directly benefit more women than men so they need to embrace the program .
She also thanked the men for their active participation and promised to stay active and to always participate because they have learnt the values of them learning how to build stoves and having stoves in their homes.
