- Bible Lesson Five: God’s forgiveness
- Notes
- Ida went to Sinde and taught about "God's forgiveness "
She asked the question what is forgiveness?
Nekesa said that it's pardoning someone who has wronged you.
Barasa said that those are memorized messages in books at Catholic Churches.
Ida asked what sins can God forgive?
Is there anything that God cannot forgive?
How are we forgiven?
Let's read from the book of 2nd Chronicles 33. Because of the anger that God had towards the people of Judah, He let other nations to defeat her. Time came when king Manasseh humbled himself and worshipped God alone. God was pleased and forgave him.
God forgives all sins no matter how much you think they are many.
All we need is to turn back to God, confess our sins to Him.
Ida also gave an example of the unforgiving servant in the New Testament. A king had servants and one asked for a loan that he failed to pay. The king ordered that all his possessions be confiscated. The servant begged for mercy and the King pardoned him.
Meanwhile the same servant had given a workmate some small loan, he demanded his work mate to pay immediately. The workmate begged for mercy but his friend never listened. He took him to prison instead. When the king heard about it, he was furious and ordered the servant who refused to forgive his workmate to be put in prison and all his family.
What do learn from this story?
Nambudye said she has learned that when you don't forgive those who wronged you, God will not forgive you too.
Barasa said that forgiveness is an order from above.
Nekesa said that when you forgive you don't again bring back the same issue.
Wafula said God forgave king Manasseh, He also forgave the fornicating women and is able to forgive us all our sins.
