- Bible Lesson 3: The love of God
- Notes
- Ida went to Kitukiro and taught about "God's love "
Before the lesson, the community welcomed the visitors with a dance. Then Atiang opened the meeting with a prayer in Islam. Ida asked the community to remind her what she taught previously.
Ruth said that she remembered the lesson about the storm, Jesus is the only one who has power over nature, sickness and death.
Muwereza said that Jesus can command the wind to stop and it stops immediately.
Sabbiti said that Jesus raised the dead and he has power over everything.
Nabirye said that all the storms they are going through of deaths will calm down if only they trusted in the only person who can calm the storm and it immediately stops and that is Jesus Christ.
After the review Ida introduced a new lesson about the Love of God. She told a story of the Good Samaritan in a drama form. She asked some members to volunteer and act as characters of the story. They got five characters, the two sons, their father, the owner of the pigs and the community that was invited to come and celebrate after the son was found.
After the story, Ida asked what they had learned from the drama /story.
Sepiranza said that when we disobey and decide to go away from our parents we end up keeping pigs in a far country.Sarah said that they are like the son who stayed at home. He missed the point and became jealous of his brother and added that we must welcome and rejoice with those who come back to their senses and return home,e.g. those who come back to their churches after roaming around.
Zeulance said that they are all like the lost son, they must do what he did, after realizing ones mistake, one should get up and go back to where she/he belongs. She added that, the father will see you from a distance and run to hug you however much you stink.
Sarah Kibuuka asked the community to stand and start the journey to the father God who is ready to receive them. She added that they should not just talk about repentance but act!
Ida concluded by giving them a memory verse which says " I will go back to my father and ask for forgiveness before him and God". She added that whenever we decide to go back home, let's act immediately because the time is now tomorrow will never come.r
