Notes
When Alex B arrived to the village,he found the members of Bukudumira waiting for him at the meeting place. They had a prayer together which was led by Swaibu Kigoolo. They then discussed about their bylaws. One of the things they discussed about was of time on when to always start their meetings, the punishment of one who missed the meeting and how one is recognized as full member. They agreed and confirmed that all the meetings should begin at 12:30 pm until 2:30pm.The members decided that when one comes in late the fine to be paid is Sh.200.They also agreed on that when one has not attended the meeting but with an apology, there is no fine on top. They discussed on the absenteeism of some members. They raised issues of one being sick or family member that need help to go for treatment, loss of a relative or close friend, period of harvesting crops that need urgency. They suggested that such issues are special cases that cannot always be avoided. The members agreed to communicate or inform their leaders or someone close to them to be informed. The members all agreed that if one does not attend a meeting without informing the members, the fine should be sh.500. There was a member who asked how he will benefit out of that money. They all agreed that, such money will be used to buy pens, books where they write the minutes and some be put in the treasury. They also agreed that one who attends the meeting, the hours they spend during this time is more worth than sh 500. They also said ideas that are contributed during the meeting by one who has attended the meeting is better than money. The members also agreed that if one fails to attend four meetings consecutively without a sound reason, that can lead to not being recognized as one of them. When they started to discuss on the issue of subscription of membership, the clouds began to gather as a sign of rain. The wind began blowing and some members had left their crops like maize and rice in sunshine for drying. They asked for permission to leave from the chairperson Mrs.M waiswa and she granted them. The meeting was adjourned and since it was already past three o’clock. Alex B thanked them for there contribution during the meeting and after he left for Jinja.
